Accessibility Statement

Weird games should be for everyone. Here’s what we’ve built so far, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us what to fix next.

1. Our commitment

Solo Frogs aims for solofrogs.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We design for keyboard users, screen readers, people who prefer reduced motion, and players with photosensitivity — and we treat accessibility issues as bugs, not nice-to-haves.

2. On this website

  • Keyboard navigation — every link, button, menu and form can be reached with Tab, with a visible lime focus ring. A “Skip to content” link appears on the first Tab press.
  • Reduced motion — if your device asks for reduced motion, we pause decorative animation and background video loops.
  • Contrast — body text is set in high contrast against our dark backgrounds, and we don't rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
  • Structure — pages use proper headings, landmarks and labelled form fields so assistive technology can navigate them.
  • Media — trailers are self-hosted with native controls; they never autoplay with sound.
  • Zoom — pages reflow down to 320px wide and up to 400% zoom without losing content.

3. In our games

HUM's settings menu (open it from the main menu or by pausing with Esc) includes:

OptionWhat it does
SubtitlesOn by default. Captions every voice line, tape and announcement.
Photosensitivity modeSoftens and slows strobing lights, blackout flicker and bright flashes.
Camera shake & Head bobEach adjustable from 0–100% to reduce motion sickness.
Field of view70°–100°. A wider view helps many players with motion sickness.
Brightness & Film grainLift the darkness or remove visual noise.
Separate volume slidersMaster, ambience, effects, voices and music — turn down the hum, keep the dialogue.
Mouse sensitivity & Invert lookTune the camera to suit your hands.

HUM can be played with keyboard and mouse or a standard gamepad, and the controls are listed in the support FAQ. Full key rebinding is on our roadmap.

4. Photosensitivity warning

Please read before playing HUM. A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that can appear in video games. Even people with no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures”.

HUM specifically contains:

  • flickering and buzzing fluorescent lights, including rapid flicker during power failures;
  • sudden blackouts followed by bright light returning;
  • brief white-out flashes during key story moments;
  • strobing party lights in one late level;
  • screen distortion, grain and camera shake.

If you or anyone in your family has a history of epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing. Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience light-headedness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, disorientation, any involuntary movement or convulsions. To reduce risk: play in a well-lit room, sit back from the screen, take a 10–15 minute break every hour, avoid playing when tired, and turn on Photosensitivity mode.

HUM also contains sudden loud sounds, so we recommend starting with a moderate volume.

5. Known limitations

  • HUM is a real-time 3D game and isn't currently playable with a screen reader alone.
  • Key rebinding and one-handed layouts aren't available yet.
  • Some older trailers and news posts may not have captions yet — we're adding them.

6. Feedback and contact

If you find a barrier on our site or in our games, please tell us at support@solofrogs.com or through the contact form. Tell us the page or level, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 working days.

7. How we tested

This statement was prepared on 3 October 2026 based on a self-assessment by the Solo Frogs team using keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, reduced-motion settings and automated checks. We'll review it with every major release.
